How to Make a Plain Cake
Plain cake is a delicious, easy-to-make dessert. All you need to make plain cake are some simple ingredients, a baking pan, and an oven to bake it in.
Ingredients
- 100 grams (3/4 cup) of all purpose flour
- 100 grams (1/2 cup) of plain/caster sugar
- 100 grams (1/2 cup) of oil
- 3 eggs, optional
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder (if you want to make a chocolate cake)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/4 cup of milk
Steps

1Preheat the oven at 185 °F (85 °C).

2Sieve flour and baking powder in a bowl.

3Add cocoa powder and set it aside (if you're making a chocolate cake).

4Beat the eggs.

5Add the sugar to the eggs and beat it properly until it becomes smooth.

6Add oil and then beat it again until smooth.

7Add the vanilla essence if you want.

8Add the flour mixture to the batter and beat it lightly(do not use an electrical beater while beating the flour). Then add the milk(sometimes you need more or less milk. The milk moisturizes the cake and keeps the cake from getting too hard).

9Put the cake mixture aside.

10Take a square or a circular tin and insert baking paper.
- If you don't have any baking paper, grease the inside of the tin and the inside sides of the tin with butter or cooking spray and dust with flour.

11Pour the batter in the tin.

12Put the cake mixture into the oven for 1 hour.

13When it is finished, insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, it's done. If not, bake it for a few more minutes.
